Akumal Beach Resort, Mexico November 29, 2008

We have returned from a fantastic trip in Mexico over the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a great time, despite the really long plane ride home. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there and we played at the beach every day. Ethan enjoyed Mexico quite a bit and loved hanging out with his cousins building sand castles.

For the majority of the trip we hung around the beach at our hotel. It is probably one of the nicest beaches in Mexico in my opinion. We did some snorkeling and I saw a turtle. We also went boogie boarding and I went and swam in a cinote.

It’s a little depressing to be back in the cold and rainy weather but I did miss sleeping in my own bed and Ethan definately missed sleeping in his own crib.

Blogging Lull… November 12, 2008

My apologies for the delay in blog posts lately. Work has been really busy and we are in the process of getting ready for our Mexico vacation next week. Packing was sort of a process before but now with a toddler it takes even longer. I know that we are all looking forward to the warm weather and and beach days though.

Ethan has been talking up a storm lately. He is now counting to ten with a little help from his parents. He also tries to repeat the ABC’s but gets mixed up with some of the letters. He seems to learn to say something new every day. His latest saying is “I get it” or “I’m ready”. His main form of entertainment is trying to climb up on the sofa while his parents are in the kitchen getting him something to eat or drink so now we are in the process of working on learning to sit on the couch instead of stand on the couch.

 

Halloween at Mom’s Work November 4, 2008

I know I’m a little late in posting this since Halloween is over but below is a family picture from our Halloween festivities. Jeff and Ethan came to my work on Halloween since our building had a big Halloween party all geared around the kids with lots of candy and excitement. Ethan was a little overwhelmed at first but after getting a shot of straight grape juice and a cupcake he got more into it.

 

Santa Train November 1, 2008

Since we are now in the month of November I got into the holiday spirit, but only for a brief second, and decided to do some research of what activities were going on during the holidays that may be fun for Ethan to do. In my hunt for activities this morning I found the Santa train which is a train that runs from North Bend through Snoqualmie with a stop at the train museum to see Santa. I thought that this sounded like a great thing to do and we’ll be in the snow as well. How Christmas is that? Luckily I purchased my tickets since they are already 90% sold out. We are heading on this adventure on December 20th so if anyone is interested in joining us, let us know.
