Jeff and I returned from Hawaii yesterday and boy are we exhausted. I would of wrote about our trip yesterday but I barely had the energy to eat dinner yesterday. We took a red eye flight back on Sunday night that ended up being three hours late so we got home yesterday morning at 7 AM. Other than that, Hawaii was awesome. Below are some of the highlights and photos to boot.
Tuesday: We arrived on Maui in the evening and went straight to the house, then we all went and ate dinner at the Aloha Mixed Plate which has local food entrees. Very delicious and the drinks were fantastic.
Wednesday: Woke up extremely early since we were not accustomed to the time change yet and went to breakfast at a local place in town. We ate some Macadamia Nut pancakes and sweet bread french toast. Yummy. This day we just hung around the house by the pool all day and read. Very relaxing.
Thursday: We ventured into the world of Scuba Diving. Actually Jeff ventured into the wold of Scuba Diving. I on the other hand made it down about ten feet and realized that my ears were not really meant for it that day, too much pressure and I was not able to pop them. Jeff made it down to twenty feet and had a great time seeing the underwater sea life. I will hopefully try it again in the future. After our Scuba Diving activity we ventured back to the house and a company came in and gave us massages. Best massage ever!
Friday: This was my favorite day of all. We took surfing lessons on this day and boy was it fun. Jeff didn’t partake in the surfing lessons but hung out on the beach and watched the surfers in action. I was actually able to get up and ride almost all of the waves. I did wipe out on one wave and the instructor said that I experienced the human washing machine which indeed I did. I had a great time surfing and definitely plan on doing it again. I think Jeff is a little surprised that his wife can surf. In the evening we ventured to a Luau “Feast at LeLe“. I would recommend this luau for anyone going to Maui. Lot’s of fun!
Saturday: Jeff and I ventured to the Beach at the Sheraton on Maui. You can park in the parking garage that is connected to the hotel and then walk from there to the amazing beach. There is quite a few people who hang out on this beach but they have some fantastic snorkeling if you go all the way to the right next to the black lava rocks. We saw lots of different types of fish and there was also a sea turtle that was hanging out in the water as well. It was pretty funny because it was first swimming along the beach between people’s legs and they didn’t even see it there.
Sunday: This was our last day on Maui and before we left for the airport we ventured to the Maui Ocean Center. This is a large aquarium that you can walk through that also has a huge shark tank as well as a tunnel that you can walk through where sharks and rays are swimming over your head. If you do not like to snorkel or scuba dive but want to see fish this would be the place for you.
