Well actually the title of this post should be Seattle Susi and Ethan Expo since we were technically in PAX for only a short time in the morning before things got too crowded.

Ethan and I headed down to meet Jeff at around 9 in the morning yesterday and then checked into the hotel and immediately went over to the convention center before the general public was let in. We got to go on the show floor before it started and see all of the exhibitors which was fun. Ethan luckily did not get scared by anything he saw at the show.

We got to hang out a little bit in the VIP room which was fun for Ethan since he got to play around in the bean bags to his hearts content. The VIP room also had windows which looked down at the people waiting to get into the show floor.

Once the crowd started filtering through the doors we had to leave since the stroller was some reason a fire hazard. I guess because of the huge amount of people that were expected on the show floor. That was fine with me because I really didn’t want to be in there anyways with that many people. I’ve been to enough game conventions already to get my fill of crowds.

After we left Jeff we headed downtown to the waterfront and went on the carousel. Ethan had a blast and unfortunately I was not able to take any pictures since it was going pretty fast and I had to hold on to him the whole time. After that we ventured to Red Robin for lunch and Ethan was the perfect angel and a great lunch companion.

Unfortunately the rest of the day did not go as great since Ethan decided that he did not need a nap and wanted to instead cry and be extremely cranky for two hours. This would of been fine if we were at home but being in a hotel made it a little difficult since we did not want to ruin the other guests stay. After two hours I decided to take him shopping instead and wouldn’t you know it, once we got out the door he fell asleep.

In the evening we had plans to hang out with some of my old co-workers from WildTangent which was a lot of fun. Ethan luckily was an angel during dinner as well considering he only had a twenty minute nap all day. Once we were done with dinner he was really wired so I let him look out the window at the view from our hotel room. I think he really liked being so high up and down on everything.

So if you are in the downtown area this weekend give us a call if you would like to meet up.

Home Improvement… August 25, 2008

Today was spent doing home improvement things. Thankfully my dad came down to help out and helped Jeff install an outside outlet on the front of our house that will be used for our Christmas lights. THANKS DAD!

I did installation in the inside of the house putting in new toilet seats, light panels, and air vent covers. Ethan tried to help too by trying to stick his hand in the toilet. Yuck!

We also ventured yet again to our favorite outlet mall for kids clothes in North Bend. Since our son keeps growing and growing it was time to invest in another three months worth of clothes so we stalked up on lots of pants and shirts. I even purchased Ethan a super cute knit pumpkin hat for when the weather starts to get cold. I am sure that he will hate it but I thought it was adorable. I guess its just a mom thing to dress your kids up in things that they won’t like.

Last week Jeff, Ethan, and I decided to venture to a playground that we always drive by when traveling near Rose Hill. The playground is located in Woodlands Park and is a huge castle with tons of places to play. I believe that they even have a large chess set there as well. The playground equipment was a little big for Ethan but we still had a great time walking around and exploring.

Hanging with friends… August 16, 2008

This week Ethan and I went on a walk down the Burke Gilman trail to Woodinville and back with our friends Tyler and Erika. It was a very hot day but luckily we found a park with lots of shade for the kiddo’s to play and walk. Ethan is not walking yet but Tyler is so hopefully Ethan picked up a few pointers.

Ethan also decided while I was packing up his stroller to eat dirt. He seemed to like it since it was smeared all over his face. Unfortunately the camera was put away by this point, otherwise it would of been a nice picture to use as an embarrassing photo when he’s older. :)

I also had to include the below photo even though it was not on our walk since Ethan has this guilty look on his face which cracks me up.

Got Milk? August 10, 2008

The big day has finally come. Ethan is now off of formula and drinking milk now and also not drinking from a bottle anymore. He is now drinking from a sippy cup which is fantastic. He seems to really love milk so there was not even a transition to go to the sippy cup as long as it has milk in it.

Before this point Ethan did not have any interest in the sippy cup so I was worried the bottle would last forever, but they have seen their final days. I finally have some of my counter space back again since the old bottles get to be boxed up. Yeah!

Today we had a little gathering in the backyard to celebrate Ethan’s first birthday. Well his birthday is not technically until Monday but we had to do one for the family of course so all of the grandparents could share in the festivities.

The theme for Ethan’s party was Elmo of course. Ethan is a big fan of Sesame Street, especially Elmo’s World, so it seemed to be the theme that fit. Fortunately the rain didn’t come today even though the clouds stuck around for a good portion of the party. Luckily we had plenty of food and I made a new recipe for Mac and Cheese which everyone seemed to enjoy. All in all it was a good party if I do say so myself, even though Ethan and I were both under the weather. Thankfully they only happen once a year because boy am I tired.
